ELVIS PRESLEY GREETING CARD SIGNED ELVIS AND COLONEL PARKERTO THEIR PERSONAL SECRETARY. This greeting card comes from the collection of Trude Forsher. She was the private secretary to Elvis and the Colonel from August 1956 to 1961. This is what I know. The holiday greeting card was sent to Trude Forsher. It appears to be circa December, 1956. We have Graceland Christmas cards for subsequent years. I will supply the following letter of provenance.
The greeting card comes from the personalcollection of Trude Forsher. The card was received by the forsherfamily. It was sent by her employees, EPand Elvis.
In the 40 plus years she had possessed this card, shenever once questioned that it was not signed by her employees. As many of you know, after holding onto my mothers collectionof EP and Colonel items. Graceland has been a fabulous group to work with and are exceedinglycautious about what they sell. When theyreviewed the signature, they could not authenticate the signatures and believedthat it was possibly signed by someone else.I deeply admire the work they have done with my momscollection. However in this one instance, I will stand behind my mothersbelief that her employees sent her a card signed by them. I believe thatworking with colonel and EP daily for years, and signing for them on manyoccasions, she would know what a fake signature would look like better thananyone and would have commented how tacky it would be for them to send her acard not signed by them.
So, I will sell this myself, with the letter of provenanceas described above. The item "Elvis Presley 1956 Christmas Greeting Card.
